If you come to visit us, do not forget to visit the Bata Canal, which offers plenty of sailing, water tourism and cycling.
Baťa's canal is a historic waterway built between 1935-1938, 52 km long, which connect Otrokovice with Rohatc. The main material lignit from Ratiskov digger, which Bata´s company owned, was delivered by this canal.
It partially leads along the Morava River, otherwise artificially excavated canals with a number of moving weirs, sailing chambers and other water structures.
Visitors of the Bata Canal can rent a small boat or hausbot or choose a cruise on a cruise ship. You do not need any authorizations for shipping on a boat or a houseboat. The qualified staff of boat rental will train you properly.
Traffic on the Bata Canal starts usually in April (practically as soon as the weather allows). Cruise trips take place every Wednesday and Sunday. The "winter sleep" is set in October. However, if the weather is good, boat rentals often work after this date.
